Gloucester’s Scott Redding picks up points in Sepang

Gloucester born MotoGP rider Scott Redding continued his impressive point scoring form with a P13 in the penultimate race of the season at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The 24-year-old qualified 14th on Saturday afternoon to set up personal best number of points finishes on his Octo Pramac Ducati.

Redding made an impressive start and had already moved up to 8th after the first lap. However, despite strong pace Redding’s rear tyre began to soften ultimately causing him to lose performance.

Fellow Briton Cal Crutchlow offered Redding a helping hand late on, gifting him an extra position following a problem with his LCR Honda engine. Redding eventually took his Ducati passed the checkered flag in 13th for the second time this season.

The additional three points see Redding move from 14th to 13th in the MotoGP Championship standings with 64 points.
