Ahead of the highly anticipated International week at the Cheltenham Races this weekend, I spoke to the manager of betting shop Ladbrokes; to gain his thoughts on the event, his predictions on the winning horses, and his all round expert racing knowledge on the infamous two day International week.
Having performed heroics at this very event, back in 2015, Splash of Ginge will be looking to strike lucky again, hoping to create history once more.
Here are the following odds for the horses competing for upcoming National Hunt Hurdle’s race:
Summerville Boy 7/4
Western Ryder 9/4
Some Man 14/1
Shoal Bay 14/1
Spice Girl 18/1
It’s Got Legs 66/1
Sartene’s Son 100/1
Having gained the thoughts of Ladbrokes manager, Mark, he was able to express his excitement over the upcoming event.
“The International Week is definitely in the top three racing events held in Cheltenham throughout the year, but for me it would have to be the Cheltenham Gold Cup”, the 38 year old said in an exclusive interview.
“I always make sure I bet on a horse or two around about that time of year, obviously the Gold Cup us held around March, St. Patricks week, when the cup’s won. But the International week is pretty good too”.
“Cheltenham’s buzzing this time of year, not quite as busy as Gold Cup week, all the shops, bars restaurants are all buzzing, the irish bring their own flavour to the town, on these occasions so you can definitely tell a difference”, he added.
“And you can definitely tell when a racing event is on or off”.
