Lewis Hamilton has qualified just ahead of Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas to earn his sixth consecutive pole in the Australian Grand Prix.
The five-time world champion edged Bottas by 0.112secs to take the number one spot in the season-opener. He was a massive 0.704secs ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
Hamilton was fastest in all practice sessions and two of the three qualifying rounds as he looks to retain the championship title.
Elsewhere, British rookie Lando Norris took eighth in his debut for McLaren whilst George Russell placed 19th ahead of his Williams team-mate Robert Kubica.
